Motogo Immersion Programs
Motogo offers a 1-week global immersion program for female students ages 12–18. Any school or community organization worldwide can apply.
During the program, participants take apart and rebuild real combustion engines—applying mechanical engineering, design thinking, troubleshooting, and systems thinking in real time. Along the way, they build confidence, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and teamwork that extend far beyond the workshop.
Motogo is not a trade school—we are a launchpad for discovery. This program inspires students who are college-bound or exploring STEM futures, with alumni going on to study and work in fields like aerospace, biomedical engineering, robotics, industrial design, and applied sciences.
Our mission is also about representation and empowerment. By creating inclusive spaces where young women can take risks, build resilience, and lead with curiosity, we challenge outdated ideas of who belongs in STEM.
Wherever they come from, students leave with more than mechanical skills—they leave with the confidence to tackle challenges and shape their futures.

When Girls Gear Up…
Where are they now?
“Everything about Motogo was new and exciting- so exciting that even on mornings when I overslept I would rush out of my house just so I wouldn't miss a minute of class. I had never mowed my lawn, let alone worked on motorcycles. Every day was filled with discovery. "Oh, so that's what that does," would bounce around in my head constantly. It was fantastic. It felt like I was a little kid discovering the world around them all over again. As the years progress, I will forget the quadratic formula and the War of 1812, but I will never forget how to use an impact driver or a socket wrench. Starting a Honda CB 350 motorcycle I tore apart and put back together is a proud moment I will remember for a lifetime.” —-Lillien Heywood, Motogo graduate
After graduating from Ohio University, Lillien began her PhD in mechanical engineering at The Ohio State University, focusing on Quantum Heat Transfer. She received the 2025 Rising Star Award for her research on transport properties of topological materials.
Learn to celebrate failure as a necessary step on the road to mastery!
The Motogo Immersion Course creates a safe, empowering space for girls ages 12–18 to embrace the challenges—and the lessons—of failure. In this weeklong program, students work hands-on to build and rebuild a real motorcycle engine, applying mechanical skills while learning that missteps are not setbacks, but essential steps toward mastery.
By giving girls the tools, time, and support to experiment, struggle, and try again, the course reframes failure as an opportunity for growth. This experience nurtures resilience, confidence, and intellectual curiosity, showing students that failure is not the end of the process, but the path to innovation, discovery, and leadership.
Through the Motogo Immersion Course, young women gain more than technical skills—they gain the courage to take risks, the mindset to adapt, and the confidence to thrive in STEM and beyond.
